David DiGiacomo
David DiGiacomo has been a Set Designer/Production Designer and practicing Architect in Los Angeles for the past ten years. Prior to that he worked as a designer and project manager for architectural firms in Los Angeles, Miami, and New Haven, including two years with the noted firm Arquitectonica in Miami.
In addition to his work in film and architecture, David was an industrial designer at D.E.C.A. in Miami where he designed advanced custom furnishings and components for executive jet interiors. While at D.E.C.A., David designed a prototype for the first ergonomically-designed tracking swivel chair for jet aircraft, which is still being manufactured today. David began his university education at Bennington College where he studied sculpture and painting. He continued his undergraduate work at the University of Colorado College of Environmental design where he received his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 1976. David also participated in a National Science Foundation project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied the social and physical ecology of self-sustaining communities. He received his Master of Architecture degree from the Yale University School of Architecture in 1986. David has designed sets for over 200 television commercials, a feature film entitled “The Face of Fear,” and the live action CD-ROM, “Amazonia.” These designs have run the gamut from large mechanical sets on location to miniatures for use with motion control cameras. His architectural practice has been comprised of a select group of residential and commercial projects, primarily in association with architect and fellow Yale graduate, Owen Foley. David is a California licensed Architect and a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Art Directors.
