Eric Rosen
My studio began inadvertently in 1991 and the architectural licensing board established me as Eric Rosen Architect in 1994. Prior to that, I was just Eric Rosen while obtaining my Bachelor of Arts at Brown University with a dual major in Art and Art History (Magna Cum Laude). While at Brown, I participated in architecture studios at RISD where I was told that I did not have what it took to be an architect. So, I went to the University of Pennsylvania where I received my Master of Architecture in 1990. At that time, Wesley Wei taught me how to re-think. Serendipity brought me to the studio of Michele Saee where I worked as project architect on the Beverly Hills Cosmetic Dental Clinic and participated in a number of competitions, theoretical projects, and exhibition presentations. It was there that I learned how to re-see. Though for different reasons, my wife thinks I should have listened to the advice of my teachers at RISD and been a lawyer.
Since 1991, projects have included the Eclectic Cafe/Gallery, Bollinger Residence, Offices of Toni Singman and Associates, 1925 Ocean Avenue, Cafe Sako, Warner Hollywood Cafe, Clement Residence, 11th Street Residence, Nohall Residence, and Fairways Residence.
