Nick Seierup

Nick Seierup, A.I.A. is a Principal and Project Designer in the office of Steven Ehrlich Architects (SEA) in Santa Monica, California. A native Southern Californian, Nick was educated at Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) BArch 1979 , and Orange Coast College AA1972 . Eighteen years as a practicing architect have included eight years as an Associate Architect with Eric Owen Moss, FAIA, five years partnering his own firm Projects Architecture with George Elian,and the past four years with SEA. Projects with which he is associated, such as the Petal House and Stealth (while in the office of Eric Owen Moss), Zipangu Restaurant and Blueprint Furniture Showroom (Projects Architecture) theTaichung Civic Center, Crossroads Library and BUS Fitness Center (Steven Ehrlich Architects) have been published and exhibited internationally, and have received awards at the local, state, national, and international levels. A multicultural design approach has been honed by extensive international travel and renewed by ongoing academic relationships, teaching design at SCI-ARC, UCLA GSAU&P and currently at Woodbury University.


Professional activities include serving the American Institute of Architects as the Co-Chairperson of both the 1996 and 1997 LAAIA Design Awards Committees, which led to the establishment of the 1996 and 1997 publication of the catalog of the event with the goal of reconnecting the professional organization with the next wave of young practitioners, Nick was invited by Bernard Zimmerman to be one of the Powers of 10 who organized this Exhibit, and is responsible for the christening " New Blood”
