Cornell University- College of Architecture, Art and Planning's Rome Program
The College of Architecture, Art and Planning's Rome Program was founded in the Fall of 1986 to provide instruction in Italy for students seeking excellence in art, architecture, urban studies and other disciplines. The program offers an educational experience which draws upon the rich past of Rome, its resources in museums, its art and architecture and its wide variety of cultural offerings. The school is located in the famous Palazzo Massimo in the center of the historical city next to such well-known Roman sights as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Rome's famous outdoor market at the Campo dei Fiori. The program in Rome offers components for students majoring in liberal arts, architecture, fine arts and city planning. Full course loads are available to all students in a curriculum which stresses the convergence of artistic, cultural and architectural ideas vital to an understanding of the city. Each student is responsible for planning a course schedule that ensures their particular requirements can be met since course offerings are limited in Rome.

Temple University Rome
Rome is simply one of the most incredible living classrooms in the world. Temple Rome professors take every advantage of this semester-long field trip to help focus, illustrate, and augment their courses in the Visual Arts, Liberal Arts and Italian Studies, International Business, and Architecture. Through a combination of lectures, trips, and special projects, Temple Rome makes the history, culture, art, and modern life of Rome come to life as no classroom in the United States could. Art history slide shows in some darkened classroom can't hold a candle to taking a quick bus ride to the Vatican Museums, or hopping on a train and being in the Uffizi galleries of Florence in under four hours.

American University of Rome - Drake University
Institute of Italian Studies
The American University of Rome is housed in a prestigious villa located on the crest of Rome's highest hill, the Janiculum, on the right bank of the Tiber, just a few minutes' walk from the historic Trastevere district. The villa contains on four floors a complete range of facilities: classrooms, offices, student lounges, an extensive library, a computer center, and an auditorium. The auditorium is used for public lectures and concerts, in addition to academic activities. Surrounded by its own garden in the shade of historic Roman pines, the campus is sited in close proximity to the major parks of the Villa Sciarra and the Villa Pamphili. Its neighbors include the American Ambassador to the Holy See and the American Academy in Rome. The neighborhood is one of the safest in the city, and one which offers a full range of amenities, including an important theater. It is located just off the consular road of the Via Aurelia and is therefore easily reached by car and parking is available. It is connected to the center of Rome by several bus lines, and within walking distance of a metro stop. The University neighborhood contains various types of athletic activities including tennis, soccer and swimming. These facilities are not owned by the University, but are available for students at a reasonable cost.
Students enrolled through the Institute of Italian Studies receive their transcript and credits through Drake University's Registrar's office upon receipt of the transcript from AUR. All credits are transferable to U.S. institutions.
